A.D. German Warehouse

Preservation Planning, Public - 2015-2018

About The Project

Isthmus Architecture has been working with the community effort to rehabilitate and revitalize this rare example of commercial architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. Isthmus staff facilitated the establishment of a non-profit organization to own and act as steward. Working with the ADGWC, Inc., Isthmus prepared a Revitalization Feasibility Study in 2015 that identified the scope of work needed to bring the building back online and identified potential mixed-use opportunities to sustain the building long term. In 2017, Isthmus completed a Preservation Plan for the elaborate exposed cast-in-place concrete fieze atop the fourth floor. Fundraising for the historic rehabilitation is now underway.
