Neighborhood Center

Commercial, Community, New Construction, Public - 2012-2015

About The Project

The City of Madison identified the need for a new neighborhood center on this site in 2013. Isthmus Architecture was selected to prepare a study on potential reuse of an existing building here for youth and adult programs. The district alder, working with the neighborhood, was successful in making the case for a new building to best serve the neighbors. Isthmus Architecture was retained to design a new building and oversee the construction. The Theresa Terrace Neighborhood Center reuses the existing foundation and is designed to fit in with the residential scale of the street. Since opening in June of 2015, the center has become the heart of this diverse community.
